Landmark vehicles hit by thieves

   Officers from the St. Pierre RCMP Detachment are looking for the culprits responsible for a number of thefts that took place in Landmark on July 29.

   According to police, fourteen official complaints were filed by residents in Landmark after thieves targeted nineteen vehicles in the area.

   “Witnesses observed two males rummaging through unlocked parked vehicles,” stated Corperal Rheal Gravel with the St. Pierre Detachment. “After being challenged by a local resident, the culprits subsequently made good their escape in a black “Mustang” two door looking vehicle.”

   The initial investigation has revealed that 14 separate locations were hit where 19 motor vehicles were broken into between the hours of 4:00 AM and 5:30 AM.

   Culprits stole a myriad of items that were readily available consisting of CDs, IPODs, miscellaneous electronic equipment, loose change and other edible items, noted Gravel.

   The RCMP is requesting that residents exercise extra due diligence by locking their vehicles and placing valuable items out of view. If anyone has information in regards to these occurrences are asked to contact the St. Pierre RCMP Cst. Stephane Theoret (204) 433-7908.
