Residents in the town of Niverville now have access to a variety of services through the newly formed Niverville Arts and Culture Group.

The Niverville Arts and Culture Group is a non-profit effort interested in promoting and developing art and culture in and around Niverville. It has been around for a couple of years, but only recently renewed their commitment to promoting art in the community.

“Technically we started out two years ago, however we are now becoming more present and active in the community,” stated Rod Downey. “Last year Councilor John Falk was appointed the chairperson for Leisure, Recreation and Wellness and has done a fabulous job of bringing support to the NACG.”

The Town of Niverville council recently supported the Arts council by providing the organization with a $1,000 startup grant.

To kick off the revitalization of the organization, the Niverville Arts and Culture Group hosted a fundraising evening on February 27. Twisted Media – An Evening of Local Talent was a fun-filled night of music, drama, comedy, art and food.

Anyone interested in joining can contact the council by either phoning 388-6862 or emailing NACG@mts.net.
